Do I need any previous taxidermy experience?
No. Our program is designed for both beginners and experienced taxidermists looking to improve their skills. We teach each student from the ground up using hands-on instruction.
How long is the program?
Our full-time program is 12 weeks, with classes held Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We also offer a part-time program! We are the only school to offer this.
How many students are in each class?
To provide the highest level of instruction, class sizes are limited to just three students. This allows every student to receive personalized, one-on-one guidance throughout the program.

Game Head Mounting
Fish Taxidermy
Bird & Waterfowl Mounting
Small Mammals
Rug Mounting
Habitat Construction
Airbrushing & Finishing Techniques
Professional Shop Practices
What is included in the tuition?
Your tuition includes all required mounting materials, a professional tool kit that you keep upon graduation, The Breakthrough Taxidermy Manuals, and the use of professional equipment throughout the course. There are no hidden fees for required classroom materials.
Do you offer financial aid?
No. The East Coast Institute of Taxidermy does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs.
When is tuition due?
The application fee and full tuition must be paid in full at least one week prior to the start of class.
Do you accept GI Bill® education benefits?
Yes. Eligible veterans and qualified students may use GI Bill® education benefits for approved programs at the East Coast Institute of Taxidermy. We encourage you to contact us to discuss eligibility and the enrollment process.
Is the school licensed?
Yes. The East Coast Institute of Taxidermy is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Private Licensed Schools Division.
Where is the school located?
We are located in Wapwallopen Pennsylvania, just minutes from Interstates 80 and 81, making our school easily accessible for students from Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Check here for directions.
Do you provide housing?
The school does not provide housing or room and board. However, we are happy to help students find nearby hotels, motels, or other local lodging options during their stay.
Do you guarantee job placement?
No. While we provide the skills and training needed to pursue a career in professional taxidermy, we do not guarantee job placement after graduation.
